About the event
The aim is to collect as many points as possible by passing or rounding marks in The Solent and its approaches.
Times
The Challenge will start at 11:00 and finish at 15:00. Only marks passed or rounded within this time will be counted.
Marks
All marks used must be listed in Zones 1 to 7 of the Solent Mark Designations 2025 list provided by the Solent Cruising and Racing Association. Each mark may only be used once except 43 Little Ship Club which is unrestricted but must be used at least once. If 43 is used more than once another mark must be used before returning to 43 Little Ship Club.
Rounding and Passing Marks
The side of passing or rounding a mark will be the opposite side to a straight line drawn between the previous and subsequent mark. Points Each mark rounded or passed will count as 1 point except number 43 Little Ship Club which shall count as 2 points
Start
Boats may start anywhere at 11:00 and boats should be within 50 yards of the first mark at.
Finish
For each Challenge a designated Finish Mark will be set which will be the last mark of the Challenge and must be completed by 15:00.

Result
The course followed must be entered on the Declaration Log provided. This will be used to record the total points scored. This total will be divided by the LSC Handicap to determine the adjusted points scored which shall be used to determine the results. Completed Declaration Logs must be posted on the LSC-Solent Buoy Challenge WhatsApp Group or submitted to the Challenge Duty Officer by 17:00.

Due to the fact that Hornet United Services sailing club is on MOD land we have higher security measures we must adhere to;
-They require a full list of attendees to be submitted prior to the event (latest by Friday 8th August)
-Full list of boats who require a berth also need to be submitted (latest by 1st August) so that invoicing can be processed with the club
-Those attending WILL NEED PHOTO ID-Passport, Photo Driving licence
